The curved back provides good ventilation and easy access to the SO-DIMM expansion.
Being a netbook or subnotebook, Acer fits in a keyboard that's hamstrung by close key spacing - not a problem if you have small hands like me, but could cause some users to become easily frustrated at consistently pressing the wrong keys.
Touch typing was easier than I'd imagined it would be; the keys providing good, solid travel and response.
The battery is a slimline affair, but Acer wouldn't confirm if larger models would be available.
Remember the SD card on the left-hand side? It's used to boost the internal SSD's capacity. A 4GiB SD card was plugged into the Linux version that ships with a standard 8GiB. The amalgamation takes around two seconds and gives you expanded capacity.
The other memory-card slot can then be used to copy/paste data, just like any other laptops'.
