Thermaltake has taken the wraps off its latest gaming chassis, the V5 Black Edition.
The mid-tower solution, measuring 508mm x 223mm x 490mm and weighing 7.1kg, arrives as a step up from last year's V3 and brings one significant new feature to the table; an extra large, reinforced carry handle that promises a "firm and comfortable grip".
Designed with the LAN Party-goer in mind, Thermaltake's latest is designed to be ferried around but should provide enough room to house most of your gaming hardware.
Inside the steel enclosure you'll find support for both ATX and mATX motherboards, seven expansion slots, a bottom-mounted PSU bay and a mirrored side panel that'll show off all your kit to your mates. Storage options are plentiful, too, with nine front-facing bays catering for 5.25in, 3.5in and 2.5in drives in various configurations.
Cooling comes courtesy of a 120mm rear exhaust and a 200mm blue-LED fan up top. Should that combination not live up to expectations, there's room to add two optional 120mm fans - one can be fixed to the side panel, whilst the other will attach to the front of the hard drive cage.
There's no removable motherboard tray, sadly, but there is a giant cutout that'll aid installation of your CPU cooler, and the V5 Black Edition's useful array of front I/O ports includes USB, eSATA and HD audio connectivity.
The chassis is said to be shipping now, and carries a US retail price of $69.99. That doesn't mean a whole lot to UK consumers, but a straight forward conversion puts the price at around £46 excluding VAT. Want to know more?
