We've heard murmurings of nine-cell-equipped netbooks in the past, but we've seen little proof of it happening anytime soon.
The guys and girls over at eeepcnews.de, however, have managed to get their hands on this interesting little picture:
That's a Wind netbook - which we're already quite fond of - armed with a far-larger nine-cell battery. Having shipped with a lacklustre three-cell battery, MSI has recently updated the Wind range with the addition of a six-cell model. A nine-cell option, we feel, could be the icing on the cake - despite its protruding rear-end.
There's no official confirmation of a nine-cell Wind netbook just yet, but the above image does provide hope. Here at HEXUS, we'd love to see the nine-cell battery sold as a standalone product - existing customers could then continue to use the short-stint three-cell battery at home, and the nine-cell when on the road.
Also blowing in from the Wind-front today is news of a Wind "Luxury" edition. The Luxury Wind is said to feature a six-cell battery, support for Wireless-N and Bluetooth, and a 160GB hard-disk drive.
Samsung's NC10 netbook might be knocking on the door with its revised price-tag, but MSI's Wind appears to have a few tricks left up its sleeve.
