Say hello to the MW19 and MW19V

Gateway has cast the spotlight over new additions to its LCD monitor line-up today, with the unveiling of two 19in models.

The TN Film-based MW19 and MW19V flavours are fleshed out with a quoted response time of 5ms, a 50,000:1 dynamic contrast ratio and a 1,440x900 (16:10) display resolution.

Geared towards the "professional world" and designed for intensive daily use, Gateway has adopted what it describes as a "stylish dark-grey bezel" that performs in harmony with a black base. User controls are thoughtfully located on the front bezel too, in an effort by the company to increase the MW19 and MW19V's refinement credentials.

Whilst the MW19V features simple tilt adjustment, its sibling - the MW19 - goes further with swivel, rotation and height adjustment thrown into the mix too. The MW19 also includes integrated speakers to ramp up the multimedia side of the equation and both solutions are kitted out with the usual connection options.

Energy efficiency is an angle taken very seriously, with both offerings featuring Energy Star 5 and TCO Displays 5.0 certification. Moreover, Gateway claims that the dual-lamp system featured in its displays significantly reduces power costs by up to 50 per cent.

There's no word on availability at this time and for the moment, suggested pricing information is also purely speculation.
