We've come to expect big things from BFG Technologies, and its latest power supply is no exception. Forming part of the high-end EX Series, it's known simply as the EX-1000.
As the name suggests, this is a thousand-watt unit that'll appeal to those who plan on powering multiple GPUs and ultra-high-end CPUs - or, perhaps, lighting for the local neighbourhood.
As with other recent BFG PSUs, the EX-1000 features BFG's exclusive "Frequency Conversion Technology", a feature that promises to drastically improve low-load efficiency by emulating a lower-voltage power supply. The idea is to maintain 80 per cent efficiency no matter how intensive the task.
The unit's equipped with quad 12V rails, modular connectors, and a 80 PLUS Bronze certification.
The bad news is it's currently available exclusively at U.S. retailer Best Buy with a price tag of $199.99. There's no mention of a UK launch just yet, but if you need juice there's always the beefier EX-1200 - that's available for around £150.
