OCZ Power To Get All The More Powerful

OCZ Technology has today, excitedly announced details of its acquisition of respected power supply manufacturer, PC Power & Cooling. PC Power & Cooling has been, according to the company, the front runner in best-in-class power solutions and was incepted in 1985.

The fusion of OCZ Technology and PC Power & Cooling is expected, disclose the company, to be advantageous to all parties concerned thanks to an aim to produce and deliver earth shattering power solutions, built to meet the demands for high performance, efficient components in order to fuel the computing requirements of gamers, enthusiasts and other user groups.

The combination of R&D resources and technical strengths is how the new OCZ Technology Group aims to exceed consumer expectations in three key areas. Quality, service and hi-tech leadership, are the buzz words here.

OCZ describes how the compelling partnership between two highly respected companies will equate to a powerful combination of patented technologies and innovative solutions, whilst very importantly, improving accessibility to these solutions for users worldwide,

The last comment is particularly notable as previously, PC Power & Cooling solutions were available solely to US based customers though select resellers and retailers, or through the PC Power & Cooling online store. PC Power & Cooling solutions will now be granted an immediate increase in exposure, thanks to OCZ's worldwide distribution channel state the company.

oooh thats very interesting news.

Whilst older OCZ PSUs varied between mediocre and very good, PC P&C are almost all superb. Very expensive though!

PC power and cooling make excellent PSU's if OCZ can keep up this level of quality and help us mere mortals get the,m outside the US, then it's good. You have to wonder if quality will start slipping under the OCZ banner though.

Have to agree with the quality comment having owned both brand psu's. The OCZ Powerstream blew up and the stability on the rails was not good before this, plus build wise, compared to the PC P&C, it crap.

The PC P&C psu on the other hand is just as reliable & stable as it was when I first got it years ago. The only thing I've done is open it up and replaced the fan for a quiet one.

The second good news is that we are going to keep the PC Power & Cooling brand and they will have more resources to devleop high quality products in the future as well.

Wow I have to hand it to them for having their little marketing dudes commenting everywhere. (I was an OCZ rep on DailyTech too).

It is certainly the way to go, instead of having faceless Taiwan or China based tech companies who seem to have no staff outside their factories.

There are some other issues, such as:

1. Will PC P&C's stance towards modular PSUs change?

2. Will they remain outrageously expensive?

I admit I'm a fanboy but I am virtually committed to Silverstone stuff now, so it is good to have such a strong competitor.
