Internal appearance – cable management and side panel
With the right-hand panel removed, we get a peek at the cable management within the Antec 1200. There are five holes round the edge of the motherboard-mounting area that allow cables to be routed. Fact is, though, that the large number of fans inside the chassis means that it's difficult to keep the inside of the Antec 1200 clutter-free. But, with careful planning, it is possible to make the interior acceptably neat and tidy. With our build, we routed all the fan cables down the back of the motherboard tray, keeping them out of sight. However, the eight-pin cable on our Corsair HX620 power supply wasn't long enough and we were disappointed to realise that an extender was not included. Three plastic cable ties are already attached to the rear of the motherboard tray and four others are included with the accessories. On the windowed side panel, the mesh area has a mount for an additional 120mm fan. Use that and all the other available locations and the Antec 1200 will be running with eight fans in all - seven 120mm jobs and that big 200mm up top.The inclusion of a removable dust filter on the side panel is another nice touch, although the Perspex behind the meshed area is likely to be a problem to keep clean over time.
