Final thoughts and rating
When Thermaltake sent us the Level 10 GTS Snow Edition, we were half expecting a chassis that would spark our imagination with fresh new ideas and unorthodox design.
That's the impression the Level 10 brand provides, and by definition that makes the GTS Snow Edition seem more like a Level 2.5. Despite claiming to inherit "the unique characteristic of its predecessor," this follow-up has very little in common with the original and Thermaltake has gone back to basics to deliver a chassis that, while uninspiring, is enjoyable for more obvious reasons.
The exterior design is a mixed bag and you'll either find it cool or tacky, but move inside and the Level 10 GTS gets many of the basics right. Instead of attempting to re-write the chassis rule book, it follows it to a tee by delivering good cable management facilities, tool-free optical bays, hot-swappable and side-loading hard-disk bays and a number of well-placed fan mounts that provide plenty of air- and liquid-cooled potential.
Taking into consideration the quirkiness of the original Level 10, the GTS Snow Edition is surprisingly easy to work with, and if it weren't for the inhibiting £90 asking price, it'd feel rewarding, too.
The Good
Lockable, hot-swappable storage bays
Good cable management
Plenty of dust filters
Room for high-end air or liquid cooling
Headset holder could be useful
The Bad
Looks are an acquired taste
Plastic elements feel fragile
Pricey at £90
