Benchmarks: CPU
Up until now, Intel has typically given desktop users a choice; do you want massive single-thread performance (Core i7-7700K); or would you prefer genuine multi-core goodness (Core i7-6950X)? AMD Ryzen made multi-core potential available for less, but the Core i9-7900X is the first chip to legitimately excel in both scenarios.
It is practically as fast as the Core i7-7700K in terms of straight-line speed, and with 10 cores able to maintain 4GHz under load, the Core i9 raises the bar in Handbrake and Cinebench. Impressive single-thread performance and massive mega-tasking capabilities in one $999 chip. Is that your wallet opening, I hear?
