Benchmarks: Overclocking
Our theory is that all second-generation Ryzens are cut from the same silicon cloth. Upping the voltage to 1.45V and overclocking by raising the multiplier alone, we managed a Blender-proof 4.1GHz on the Ryzen 7 2700 and 4.25GHz on the Ryzen 5 2600. Those numbers are more or less what we achieved with the X parts, reinforcing our thinking.
The performance percentage uptick is greater for these processors as they start from a lower all-core speed, but the downside, inevitably, is increased power consumption.
