CPU Tests

You are looking at a 15-25 per cent improvement over Ryzen 5 2600X, which is constituted by a combination of frequency and IPC improvements.

A couple of observations. The 6C12T Ryzen 5 3600X performs about the same as the 8C16T Ryzen 7 1800X - the champion client chip of the original Zen architecture.

Compared to Intel, on multi-threaded apps at least, the review chip is about the same speed as the Core i7-9700K. At the time of writing, the AMD processor costs around £240 and the Intel £380.

Being even-handed, the Intel processor is some way faster in the light-load HEXUS PiFast test.
