Benchmarks III

Sysbench is a useful benchmark at determining how well a system is likely to run a database under load. The more CPU events, the better, and Epyc 7742 smashes all previous records.

A popular multi-threaded benchmark that stresses all facets of a CPU, the two Epyc 7742 processors are over twice as fast as the Intel comparisons. Again, for context, a high-performance 8C16T desktop processor cannot break a minute.

John The Ripper is a password-cracking tool using the Blowfish hash in this instance. It tests the brute strength of a CPU, and it's no surprise to see 256 Zen 2 threads, if you excues the pun, blow the benchmark away. It's the only 2P x86 configuration that's able to pass a score of 100,000 based all reported results from Openbenchmark.org.
