AMD quotes a 105W TDP for this chip, compared to a 65W TDP for the Ryzen 7 3700X. The truth is that it's not that much in real-world usage, with the processor pulling an extra 18W under full-on Blender load.
We reckon AMD is being conservative in its rating, allowing the Ryzen 7 3800X to breathe under load, which should bode well for overclocking.
