Don't be fooled into thinking the Ryzen 5 3400G isn't a reasonable chip for everyday tasks; it's up against some heavy-duty company. The key comparison is with the Core i3-8100, and to that end there's familiar truth in the results. Intel is faster in light-load tests, AMD is quicker when the cores and threads are thrashed. Why? AMD has double the threads at its disposal.
