Power Consumption

AMD's achieved better frequencies by allowing a higher TDP than on any previous chip; the pair run with a 280W rating, which is up from the 250W of the previous generation.

Running at full chat, power consumption is expectedly high, but you do get a lot more multi-core performance from the extra 80W over and above the Core i9-10980XE platform.

You'd better invest in a high-quality supply if going down the 3rd Gen Threadripper route.
