Overclocking

We overclocked by removing TDP-imposed shackles. Running the highest all-core speed at a set 1.4V gave us a final frequency of 4.8GHz, which is lower than what the chip boosts to on fewer cores.

It's a little strange it is faster in OC mode than stock, given how Turbo Boost works. We can surmise it's hitting that 4.8GHz with perfect consistently when overclocked and only achieving 4.9GHz sporadically at default.

50 seconds quicker over an 11-minute run. That is what happens when the Core i5-11600K runs at an all-core 4.8GHz, albeit with power consumption increased by, wait for it, an additional 77W.

And a bit better when gaming.
