Power Consumption

We noticed the higher-than-expected idle power consumption on the original Core i9-11900K review. Though we have moved on BIOSes one iteration, the same is observed with this mid-range chip.

Core 5-11600K doesn't have the insane consumption as the unrestrained Core i9-11900K because we run the former at its in-spec TDP.

Benchmarks have shown Intel's best Core i5 is a pretty good performance match for the AMD Ryzen 5 cohort. They win out here because of that lovely 65W TDP. Looking to build a small-form-factor rig championing quietness and performance? An Intel non-K processor would be a better bet.
