Benchmarks: Power Consumption

The under-load power draw numbers are a fraction higher than anticipated. This could be a result of the change in motherboard, or perhaps the quality of our CPU sample, but the key point is the energy-saving potential of the configurable TDP.

Under 2D load, where all available CPU cores are stressed to their maximum, system-wide power consumption is cut by as much as 23 per cent when switching from 65W to 45W. This is a chip that would suit a mini-ITX board in a small-form-factor case.
