Encoding wave files into MP3 does bring the focus back on clock speed. We need an overclocked 3000+ to take top spot.

The same is true of XviD encoding. Note how a 1.8GHz Athlon 64 is able to beat out a 2.2GHz Athlon XP3200+ for the umpteenth time. If anything, AMD has been conservative with the CPU's performance rating. Pentium 4s excel in these kind of applications.

The same is true of KribiBench. Processors need to be evaluated within the context they're going to be used in.

Incredible FPU power paves the way for another benchmark victory in Realstorm's Raytracing benchmark. A little more voltage and lots more CPU speed gives rise to almost 30% extra performance.
