Here is one area where an aftermarket card can better the Founders. The EVGA consumes about the same energy but is quieter at idle speeds because the fans switch off, though in truth, you're unlikely to hear the reference FE fans at idle inside a normal PC.

Nevertheless, the EVGA is also the quietest card from this nine-way comparison when playing games, so if a relative lack of noise is super-high on your list of priorities, it may well be worth a shout.
