Gears 5 builds on the franchise to offer a deeply satisfying campaign on the slick console port. Like a fine wine, the series gets better with age.
Lusty framerates again. The question we ask ourselves is whether the $699 monster of H2 2020 ought to be at least twice as fast as the $699 card of H1 2016? GeForce RTX 3080 murders the GTX 1080 Ti on the spec sheet, brutally, yet it's not totally destroying it in framerates. And it's worth noting that the latest GeForce requires considerably more wattage to do its thing. Perhaps this is why Nvidia puts so much focus on RT and Tensor cores.
