3DMark Time Spy

Rendered at QHD or UHD resolutions and making use of DX12 technologies such as asynchronous compute, explicit multi-adapter and multi-threading, Time Spy is a modern 3DMark benchmark that hints at GPU potential in today's latest games.

We need to focus on a few comparisons. One is the leap in performance from the $699 GeForce RTX 2080 Super to this $699 GeForce RTX 3080. The other is how much better is it than the GeForce RTX 2080 Ti.

It's inevitable that GeForce RTX 3080 FE would top the performance charts; exposition of its intrinsic muscle left such thoughts in no doubt. Evaluated at 4K, which is the sweetspot resolution for this monster, it is 62 percent and 27 percent faster than RTX 2080S/RTX 2080 Ti.

Performance is suitably rapid, but the FE card falls foul of the Time Spy Extreme Stress Test. That's not great, but we have a sample of just one, so your mileage may vary.
