Overclocking Tests

We use the same overclocking method as on RTX 3080: inching up the core and memory clocks until failure. Showing that Nvidia continues to play it close to the wire, the core's frequency increases by 50MHz and the memory by an effective 1.2GHz.

We don't see much of a gain in 3DMark Time Spy Extreme because even with a maximum power target of 105 percent, the board is limited by wattage and massages frequencies accordingly. The boost speed in the OC state isn't much higher than at default. At 400W-plus, this GPU would fly.

Overclocking performance depends upon title, but expect less than 10 percent above the stock numbers in every case.
