Rendered at QHD or UHD resolutions and making use of DX12 technologies such as asynchronous compute, explicit multi-adapter and multi-threading, Time Spy is a modern 3DMark benchmark that hints at GPU potential in today's latest games.

The RX 6800 XT falls a little ways behind the price-comparable RTX 3080 FE from Nvidia. RX 6800, meanwhile, is about five per cent faster at UHD than RTX 3070 FE. These numbers suggest AMD is indeed back in the high-end game, if not leading it.

Looking back to the last generation, RX 6800 XT is 81 per cent faster than RX 5700 XT. A nice jump.

What's also clear is the new reference coolers are excellent at maintaining performance from one run to the next.
