Power, Temperature and Noise

How do you define progress? Some will be happy to see that RTX 3060 is faster than its 20- and 10-Series predecessors, but others will lament the fact that the latest generation pulls a tad more power from the wall.

Not that the 276mm² die is at risk of running hot, mind. Palit's dual-fan cooler keeps core temperature the right side of 70°C without breaking sweat.

In fact, temperatures are low enough to suggest that the card could easily run quieter. Palit's default fan profile sees the two blowers spin to 1,800RPM (50 per cent) under load in our test platform and we reckon you could shave a further 10-20 per cent off that figure without any major detriment to core temperature.
