Power, Temperature and Noise

Cranking up the wick to accommodate the faster memory and extra shaders means the Ti uses an extra 77W at the wall. In contrast, the roughly performance-equivalent AMD Radeon RX 6800 uses 65W less and has double the memory.

Looking at information available from scanning software, Nvidia is running this card at the very high end of the voltage/frequency curve. One can achieve 10 per cent less performance with 20-30 per cent less power, though Nvidia is not keen to do this as it puts GeForce cards in a poorer light compared to AMD's latest offerings.

Dealing with a near-300W TGP on a mid-sized solution means temperature is on the higher side.

Logs show the card's fan spin at 2,100rpm under the pump, resulting in audible noise in our quiet test system.
