Battlefield: Bad Company 2 and Crysis

We expected the single Radeon HD 5870 2GB GPU to struggle when pushing six screens at 5,040x2,100, but we were surprised to find that both Battlefield: Bad Company 2 and Crysis Warhead are practically unplayable. Putting the lack of performance into perspective, we recorded the minimum frame rate on Bad Company 2 as 13fps, whilst Crysis Warhead dropped to a demoralising 4fps.

A second card in CrossFire configuration certainly helps improve the frame rate - twofold in the case of Crysis Warhead - but the only enjoyable setup proved to be the three-screen 5,040x1,050 configuration.

Considering we're using a relatively modest combination of 1,680x1,050 screens, the 5870 Eyefinity 6 Edition is certain to struggle severely with higher-resolution displays.
