AquaMark3 and X² - The Threat

AquaMark3

  • Author: Massive
  • DirectX Class: 9.0
  • Pixel and Vertex Shaders: Yes (mixed mode, PS1.4 and PS2.0)
  • FSAA and AF set via application

AquaMark3 clearly prefers ATI's cards when image quality is taken into account. MSI's GeForce FX 5950 Ultra suffers a bigger-than-expected drop as soon as AA and anisotropic filtering is applied, but then manages to close the gap at the highest quality and resolution setting.

X² - The Threat

  • Author: Egosoft
  • DirectX Class: 9.0
  • Pixel and Vertex Shaders: Yes (unknown versions or amount of effects)
  • FSAA and AF set via control panel

X² - The Threat also performs a little better on ATI cards. More important that slight benchmark deviations is the rock-solid stability of every card on test. MSI's didn't flinch once in our battery of GPU-taxing tests.
