The HEXUS CoD benchmark test, one that's heavily CPU limited due to its nature (an intense set of firefights with the CPU involved playing back the physics of movement, etc), shows that X800 PRO is more than capable of keeping pace with X800 XT when the CPU plays a part in performance, while still remaining usefully faster than 9800 XT.

While it's application dependant when it comes to the CPU limiting the performance, the X800 PRO's initial cash premium over 9800 XT can still buy you value for your money, performance wise.

X800 PRO performs almost identically to 9800 XT, with the X800 XT holding station above both those cards. All cards wait for the CPU initially at the baseline setting. It's strange to see the X800 PRO perform like the 9800 XT, despite a frequency and pipeline advantage, since we're not CPU limited in later settings.
