Here's something unexpected that we find hard to explain. The PNY card's energy consumption is significantly lower than Palit's; both use approximately the same amount of voltage under load.

Keeping fans active enables the idle temperature to be reduced by 12°C when compared to the similar Palit.

The card is barely audible when idling. The two fans rise from 1,000rpm to 2,000rpm under load. Good engineering means that a doubling of fan speed is barely noticeable when considered from a system point of view.
