Both ATI cards take a back seat to a GeForce 6800 GT in basic AquaMark3 testing. There's nothing to write home about, though.
The comparative lack of performance increase over a 12-pipe Pro card is hard to explain here. Benchmarks were consistent on subsequent running. The bottom line is that there isn't a bad card in the bunch. The innate problem is that each costs around £300.
