3DMark is the latest version of this hugely-popular synthetic benchmark. Making use of DX11 features such as tessellation, compute shaders and multi-threading, it provides modern-day results and is available as a free download.

We have three GTX 1060s in our line-up and, as you might have guessed, the Asus ROG Strix is the quickest of the bunch. A performance uplift of just over six per cent isn't huge, mind, though this week's British heatwave may be preventing the card from maintaining peak boost frequencies during prolonged use.

On a side note, 3DMark's new DX12-enabled Time Spy benchmark will soon be added to our suite. For those of you itching for numbers, the Asus GTX 1060 scored 4,400 and sailed through the Time Spy Stress Test with a 99.5 per cent pass rate.
