There are inevitable downsides to a gaming laptop as powerful as this, and there are no prizes for guessing what they are. As is to be expected, the overclocked CPU and GPU both get hot under the collar, resulting in a warm chassis and lots of noise. The G701VI does manage to keep quiet when idle, but fire-up a game and the fans became frustratingly vocal.
