Though newer Nvidia GPUs are said to be on the horizon, GTX 1080 is about as good as it gets for single-GPU laptops right now. Aorus uses the chip to good effect, scoring just under 7,000 in the 3DMark Time Spy test.

Translating graphics performance to real-world games, the four titles above align with our expectations. GTX 1080 will power though modern titles at the native 1080p resolution with all quality settings dialled up to maximum, and fast-paced games look silky smooth on the 144Hz display. Gaming locally is a treat, yet there's enough power under the hood to go beyond; we've attached a 4K display and repeated the same benchmarks at both QHD and UHD resolutions. The X7 DT v8 can handle 2,560x1,440 pretty easily, though 3,840x2,160 is a struggle in some titles.
