Benchmarks: Gaming

We've run a handful of games and the Radeon RX Vega M GL renders smooth framerates at a 1,920x1,080 resolution. Your mileage will of course vary depending on the complexity of the game - some require quality settings to be dialled down to a minimum in order to get close to the desired 60 frames per second - but just about every current title ought to be playable, which is more than can be said for thin-and-light laptops outfitted with only an Intel IGP.

The Radeon Vega component is doing what it is meant to do - adding gaming credentials to slim systems that typically go without - and Dell's implementation, albeit lacking niceties such as FreeSync, shows no signs of GPU throttling. The only caveat is that there is a question mark regarding driver maturity. We weren't able to run the Middle-earth: Shadow of War benchmark due to the game losing the ability to change resolution when using the Radeon graphics; there may be an adjustment period as developers get to grips with the Intel/AMD hybrid solution.
