It is handy having both the 2018 and 2019 variants of the Blade 15 in our charts. The two systems feature the same Intel Core i7-8750H processor, but it seems the extra breathing room available to this year's unit is proving helpful. Just about every laptop equipped with this CPU will throttle under the demanding HandBrake test, and it's a question of how much.

Last year's Blade exhibited some severe throttling, so we're pleased to see the refresh model move up the charts. A performance increase of just over 20 per cent under full load suggests that the extra millimetre of thickness is well worth having.
