The higher speeds and greater core count of the Core i9-9980HK don't appear to have a significant impact on gaming at 1080p, where the onus is on the graphics chip. Performance is excellent at said resolution with quality settings dialled-up to maximum, but attempting to game at the laptop's native resolution is a step too far. Running some of the above games at 4K, we returned 35fps in Far Cry: New Dawn, 23fps in The Division 2, 28fps in Shadow of the Tomb Raider and 19fps in Total War: Three Kingdoms.
