Benchmarks: Vitals and Battery Life

Asus' cooling does a good job in keeping the Ryzen 7 5800U cool and composed at full chat.

Keeping the chip at between 20-25W long term means that overall power consumption is in line with expectations.

Sometimes noise is sacrificed for better thermals. Though clearly audible, the laptop's steady hum under load is acceptable for such a petite unit. It ought not to be a deal-breaker in a quiet environment.

Having an OLED panel could have thrown the battery life out of kilter compared to low-power LCD panels. That's not the case because the 67Whr battery has enough juice to keep the laptop going for more than 12 hours when running everyday tasks.

Looking deeper, the Asus scored an average 4,833 marks in the Modern Office test, which is actually very close to the 4,818 marks achieved by the Lenovo using last year's tech. It appears as if this laptop is reducing its standard performance by a greater degree.

Nevertheless, a solid set of thermal, noise and battery results for the ZenBook UM325S.
