Gaming benchmarks were conducted at the laptop's native resolution of 1680x1050. It's worth reiterating that the Rockdirect Xtreme 64 will ship with NVIDIA's GeForce Go 7800 GTX 256MB card from 15th January 2006. Our sample model was outfitted with the slower GeForce Go 6800 Ultra 256MB. Rockdirect currently offers customers a £100+VAT discount if ordering this card.
There's little surprise that performance with the laptop's ForceWare 79.31 set is around the same as Dell's Inspiron XPS Gen 2, featuring the same card that clocked marginally faster at 450/1100, compared to the Rockdirect's 450/1080. It will be interesting to revisit the gaming benchmarks once we have our hands on a model featuring NVIDIA's fastest mobile GPU.
