Benchmarks: Temperatures and Noise
We've seen various manufacturers cram high-end components into increasingly-thin chassis, and the end result tends to be hot-running hardware and an uncomfortable lap.
MSI's GT72 measures 48mm thick and this extra room plays a crucial part in keeping the CPU and GPU running suitably cool under load. Being able to keep temperatures down also plays into the hands of the Nvidia graphics chip, which throughout our benchmarks was able to boost to 1,126MHz and only occasionally dropped to 1,114MHz.
