With a quad-core Intel Core i7 processor, 16GB of fast DDR3 memory and dual SSDs, performance is excellent in practically every regard, and thanks to a lush IGZO QHD+ display, the X3 Plus v3 would have no trouble in doubling as your primary workstation.
There's plenty to like, but as it often the case, a couple of niggles prevent this latest revision from reaching perfection. Fan noise is still an issue, battery life has barely improved, and the decision to downgrade the storage interface from M.2 to mSATA is puzzling. And, perhaps more importantly, at £1,799 the newest X3 Plus is a fair bit pricier than its predecessor.
Bottom line: the Aorus X3 Plus remains an attractive option for enthusiast gamers seeking mobile thrills in a thin, portable form factor. Sub-14in laptops don't come much faster than this.
The Good The Bad Lots of gaming potential
Upgraded GTX 970M graphics
Quad-core Core i7 processor
Excellent IGZO QHD+ display
Portable 13.9in form factor Sub-five-hour battery life
Gets noisy when gaming
mSATA instead of M.2
