The 4GB of DDR3-1333 in the 2012 ThinkPad X1 Carbon is paltry by today's standards. 8GB of DDR3-1600 in the 2015 model isn't spectacular, but represents a clear step in the right direction with memory bandwidth and latency all seeing gains.
