Put all of the core components into the mix and you have a very capable 15.6in laptop. The last piece of the performance puzzle is the addition of Nvidia GeForce GTX 960M graphics. The mid-range part is a step-up from the Intel CPU's integrated HD 530, as evidenced by a 3DMark Sky Diver score of 12,948.

The dedicated GPU can be useful during certain workloads, but can it deliver modern games in silky-smooth fashion? The answer is yes, just about, but with the proviso that you'll need to lower quality settings a notch or two and game at a full-HD 1080p resolution. Step up to 2,560x1,440 and things quickly become juddery, and the likes of Dirt Rally and Rise of the Tomb Raider are inevitably unplayable at a native 3,840x2,160.
