Benchmarks: Overclocking

We know that Core X-Series CPUs are intended to have good overclocking headroom, and our Core i9-7900X review sample doesn't disappoint. The chip managed 4.7GHz across all cores, requiring only 1.24V on the Asus motherboard, and we've yet to experience any memory incompatibilities - our Corsair kit ran just fine using a 3,200MHz XMP profile.

It's likely to be the chip, not the motherboard, that determines overclockability. We managed a stable 4.7GHz on both boards, resulting in practically identical benchmark performance.
