The usual caveat about PCIe 4.0 applies here. The Core i9-10900K cannot do it; that is why the M.2 performance is so much slower than the same drive in the X570-based Asus Crosshair VIII Hero WiFi.
It's useful to know that putting the NVMe SSD underneath the heatspreader shaves 8°C off peak temperature during a copy torture test compared to running the drive bare. In other words, use the primary heatsink if at all possible.
