It's somewhat odd that X570 is able to overclock the same Ryzen 9 5950X chip higher when using exactly the same settings. Both B550 boards happily boot with said chip at 4.575GHz yet fail a 10-minute stress test.

Looking further into this, it appears as if Asus uses a touch more voltage at the same nominal level.

We had previously thought that B550 would come up short with respect to memory speeds. That's not the case as it happily runs some super-speedy Corsair at its native 4,800MHz speed.

Putting it all together, the overclocked combination reduces the Blender time by 36 seconds. Not too shabby when the default performance is already class-leading.
