The one standout metric in the storage evaluation is the USB test, where the Rampage GENE II is consistently quicker than the Foxconn Renaissance. That's hard to reconcile considering both boards use the same southbridge, ICH10R, and an identical set of drivers, but we report what we see.

In short, there's nothing wrong with the GENE II's subsystem.
