Platform Performance

Our platform performance tests hammer CPU and system memory at the same time using stressful system tests.

HEXUS Crypto

HEXUS Crypto is a small test that iterates across a dataset, encrypting the data in the set. The application times how long that takes and it's entirely CPU bound. The PA1, which ran the Pentium 4 660 at 3612MHz to the AW8's 3591MHz, is ever so slightly faster in this test than the AW8.

Kribibench

Kribibench v1.1 is a software 3D renderer that loves a speedy Intel processor for its best performance. The AW8 is just over 1% faster.

Realstorm 2004

Realstorm's raytracing engine executes entirely on the CPU and hits the memory subsystem quite hard. The PA1 MVP is behind again, but by less than 1%. Can you spot a trend here?
