Gaming

We've run each board with an ATI RADEON X850 XT PE discrete graphics card and also run onboard graphics on the three motherboards that have integrated video.

We can see that whilst the GeForce 6100 IGP doesn't amount to much in 3DMark05's default test, the K8N51GMF-9 is a decent host to a dedicated PCIe graphics card.

DOOM 3 and Far Cry's onboard tests were run in medium quality mode. Discrete graphics, however, were set to high/very high quality.

The GeForce 6100 isn't designed to play shader- and texture-heavy games at reasonable framerates and resolutions. Anything remotely taxing will require the purchase of a discrete card. A lack of high-definition video-decoding support is also conspicuous by its absence.
