We can test the SATA performance of the Intel and Marvell SATA 6Gbps ports by plugging in a second (fresh) Corsair V128 SSD.
And they're about the same, in terms of sequential reading and writing speed.
Similarly, the VIA and Intel USB 3.0 controllers can be compared in the same type of test. AS SSD is run on a 16GB Kingston DT Ultimate G2 USB stick; Intel's controller is marginally the faster.
